Nobody is born modern

Many would define modern architecture and interior design differently, but commonly it’s associated with having cubist traits and being comprised of hard angles and a lot of glass.  At Jeffrey Bruce Baker, we believe that modern architecture and interiors are refined, soft, beautiful, useful and timeless.  For us, modern architecture is centered around new ways to pull together technologies and materials, to invent something that is purely functional and new, and of course beautiful.

Many of our clients who want us to design a modern home for them are leaving a traditional home.  They’ve lived and learned over time, what they want and what they are currently missing.  These needs are very specific.  While a lot of our work is deemed to be modern, I’d argue that all of our work is modern.  Even our most traditional interiors have hidden coat rooms, pantries and technologies such as TVs (click here), and are made up of clean and efficient space planning, kitchens, and spaces.  We sincerely believe that modern is a way of life and should not be fussy. Modernism should provide solutions.
